Corporate IT Administrator

Zephyr Associates is seeking a Corporate IT (CIT) Administrator to join us at our main office on the shores of Lake Tahoe, minutes from Heavenly Ski Resort and Nevada Beach.

The CIT Administrator will assume responsibility for the daily administration of Zephyr’s core business systems and provide end-user desktop support.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain internal business systems and applications within specified guidelines of availability and performance, keeping outages within acceptable limits
  • Ensure the security and integrity of business systems and applications through regular updates and verification of backup and recovery strategies
  • Provide staff with advanced technical support for Zephyr’s internal business systems and applications
  • Collaborate with business units to identify areas of improvement within IT systems, propose solutions to address problem areas, and implement approved IT solutions
  • Research, architect, and implement new technologies that bolster Zephyr’s technological position and meet company goals
  • Perform planning for additional IT capacity to meet current and future growth needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of business systems and applications
  • Escalate issues to senior staff, vendors, and stakeholders, communicating as necessary the status of IT systems
Preferred requirements:
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory (LDAP), Exchange Email, SQL Server, Terminal Server, Dynamics CRM and Solomon
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, services and technologies such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN and Firewall
  • Basic knowledge of server and desktop operating systems such as Linux (RHEL, CentOS), Windows (Server 2003/2008, Windows XP/7), and VMWare (ESX/vSphere)
  • Basic knowledge of server hardware and components such as HP ProLiant DL Series and Dell PowerEdge
  • Basic knowledge of mass storage technologies such as NAS (CIFS, NFS), SAN (iSCSI) and Tape Backup

Senior Software Engineer, Web Platform Systems

Preferred requirements:
  • Flexible, intellectually curious, server-side engineer who is unafraid of learning and using multiple technologies
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres

Zephyr, as a financial analytics company, processes a large amount financial data from vendors throughout the industry. The Data Systems team maintains a production system which aggregates and packages the data for use in our products and on our web site. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-profile system which is critical to the ongoing success of our business.

While we primarily work in the Python language in a Windows environment, we will consider all previous relevant programming experience.

Preferred requirements:
  • High value on software system quality and reliability
  • Broad knowledge of data text processing technologies such as RegEx, Python, Perl, and XML processing (SAX/DOM)
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design
  • Client side understanding of internet and web technology such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and FTP

Product Support Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Provides support to our clients/prospects surrounding basic and advanced usage of our software products
  • Serves as a backup to the Client Consulting team for hosting online product trainings
  • Educates clients/prospects on investment management concepts and statistics
  • Passes product enhancement requests from clients/prospects to our Development team as well as suggests enhancements
  • Troubleshoots incorrect functionality in our software reported by clients, prospects, and internal users and reports these to Development when necessary
  • Tests pre-release versions of our software and provides feedback to Development
  • Contributes articles to our Knowledge Base
  • Suggests revisions to existing product documentation and recommends new documentation
  • Trains internal staff on new/modified features of our software with each release, as well as known issues for product features and how to work around them
  • Ad-hoc tasks
Preferred requirements:
  • 1-3+ years using Zephyr products, particularly StyleADVISOR
  • 1-3+ years using Windows and Microsoft Office products
  • 1-3+ years in a customer service role, preferably a call center environment
  • Investment management knowledge including returns based style analysis and basic statistics
  • Strong math skills including creating formulas in Excel
  • Comfortable learning new software with little guidance

Technical Support Representative

  • Provides support to our clients/prospects surrounding basic usage of our software.
  • Troubleshoots errors, crashes, and other technical issues reported by clients, prospects, and internal users and reports these to Development when necessary.
  • Tests pre-release versions of our software and provides feedback to Development.
  • Contributes technical articles to our Knowledge Base.
  • Suggests revisions to existing technical documentation and recommends new documentation.
  • Maintains awareness of new and changing technologies and provides recommendations to Development on preparing our software for these changes.
  • Trains internal staff on technical changes to our software with each release, as well as technical issues that arise and how to fix them.
  • Maintains Microsoft certification to ensure the company's status in the Microsoft Partner Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred requirements:
  • 1-3+ years experience in Windows system administration or related education.
  • 1-3+ years experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration or related education.
  • 1-3+ years experience in Citrix administration or related education.
  • 1-3+ years experience in a customer service role, preferably a call center environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
